1978 Gretsch Prototype. Guitar is in good condition with light use. Since it was built it looks to have had one mini toggle switch and one pick up changed. A card that came with it from the builder reads: in 1978, discussion was conducted between me and Gretsch for a prototype designed by me. Gretsch gave me all the parts, including top, back, sides, neck and hardware, and said, build us one. So I did. This is the result of that event. The pickups are standard filtertrons. The neck joins the body of the 18th fret, and is a very long scale. However, the company changed ownership and many other things were going on at that time, so no discussion was ever made concerning this guitar, which has some unusual design features, including wide neck, which chet favored so much. There is no block through the body, and the F holes are made with a special tape, and the finish applied over all.

Neck is straight and frets are fine. Comes with original Gretsch case. Scale length is approximately 25 1/2 inch.
